Patient Testimonial

Currently a wellness coordinator and stroke support group director at North Memorial Stroke Center, an associate director for the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), and a consultant for The National Stroke Association, Judi is always on the go. She and her husband Randy travel nationally and internationally for business and pleasure. Judi will not allow the debilitating physical affects of a stroke she survived 15 years ago to slow her down.

Faced with paralysis on the right side of her body, Judi tried various rehabilitative treatments and orthotic devices, including an ankle foot orthosis (AFO), before she discovered the WalkAide. A WalkAide wearer since August 2006, Judi is excited to let others know that "even after15 years, there are new possibilities for stroke survivors to improve."

Here's what Judi said about her experiences with the WalkAide:

"From the very beginning, I really liked the WalkAide. I perfectly understood the mechanisms behind it and the fact that it was working on the nerve distribution rather than the muscle. I thought, this makes so much sense to me."

"I was just so excited that there was the possibility of having something discrete and not add another piece of equipment that hung out there. I liked the whole idea that you weren't going to have wires coming up from the heel of your shoes."

"From Day Two, I never even knew I had the thing on! The stimulus does not bother me at all."

"The first time I tried the WalkAide I said, "Wow, this is pretty interesting!" I think the most dramatic thing for me is being able to walk up steps because it's always been hard for me to walk up steps."

"I walk faster now than when I first got the WalkAide."
